UMMNew Things Are Happening with UMM

Are you a Methodist? And a man? Then you are a member of United Methodist Men, no signup required. Men are mobilizing for some expanded activities here at CFUMC. Read about those initiatives below - but first, a luncheon announcement.

Think Rock Eagle: September 26-28. Need information? UMM website is: www.ngcumm.com – You can register online. Living Life as a Son of God is this year's theme; Rev. Steve Wood is the keynote speaker. Informative Workshops will be offered. Questions? Contact Fred Kelly or Gary Gotfredson

Men's Basketball - Wednesday, 7-9 PM during August in the Family Life Center. Questions? Call John Jordan

UMM has played a huge role here at CFUMC in past years and we have formed a leadership group headed by Fred Kelly to revive that tradition of fellowship and service.

We are currently organizing activities and are looking for members to participate, generate other ideas and champion them.

If you are a man and a Methodist, you are member.  We would love to include you on our UMM membership list – no requirements besides a love of Christ. If you are on our list, this will allow us to notify you of upcoming events and needs of the church.

The types of activities that we consider are:

Family meals such as the one just held on March 30

Service projects

Sports activities

Fishing trip

Summer camping trip for the family

Rock Eagle Men’s Retreat

Other events we are thinking about are men’s poker night, golf tournament, health  awareness seminars, regular Saturday morning meetings with speakers, etc…

Our vision is for CFUMM to be a solid service vehicle for our church family – an organization that can respond to unfilled needs. We also hope to continue the existing tradition of big smiles when you ask participating men about UMM fellowship activities!

We hope you have an interest in UMM. To include your name on the CFUMM list, please contact Fred Kelly.

We need your ideas, your involvement, and your leadership

Regular UMM Meetings Coming Soon

Our United Methodist Men have traditionally met on the first Saturday of each month for breakfast with a good meal and interesting program. That activity is planned to resume in the near future. Keep watching for the announcements, and if you have any ideas for programs, or are willing to assist, contact Fred Kelly.
