Consignment Sale Promo for Spring 2010

SaleAt the UMW's children's consignment sale, those are the words you will hear most frequently.

Those words will be uttered by the committee that organizes this wonderful event, by the consignors as they drop off their gently used items, and by church members as they arrive at the Family Life Center expecting to navigate their way through the room.

The consignment sale takes up a lot of time and space in the life of our church, but it is a WIN, WIN, WIN situation!

Consignors have a vehicle to recycle items no longer needed at their home, shoppers can receive some great bargains and your UMW has the opportunity to enrich the lives of many people through donations.

A local charitable organization will also receive a truckload of items from consignors who donate their items at the end of the sale.

During perhaps the biggest and most profound "Where were you." event of my lifetime, I was at the church with a group of women I did not really know, but who would quickly become some of my most treasured friends.

We learned of the 9-11 attacks through dribs and drabs as consignors arrived with their items. We were comforted just by being at church, and even more so when Reverend Ron led us in prayer.

I had only been a member of CFUMC for a couple of months, but I had found my place in the Family Life Center on September 11.
