The First Week of Advent

Help me, Lord, to listen to the words of the prophets, and to believe that the Light of the Lord is beginning to dawn on the whole world. Enlighten me with the knowledge that the Christ Child will come, as long foretold, with new life for all. Amen.

The Second Week of Advent

As I await your coming, O Christ, bless me with patience. Do not let me become too anxious or unsettled about all that needs to get done before the celebration of your birth. Let me instead remember that all things happen in God's time, not mine. Amen.

The Third Week of Advent

As children get more and more excited as the Day of Christmas draws near, so may I, O Babe of Bethlehem, be filled with more and more joy in you. Gladden my heart with your presence. Lift my spirit with the goodness of your grace and liven my days with praises to you. Amen.

Just as you gave Mary and Joseph to Jesus to love and care for him, O Father, so you have given me loving family members and friends. May my bonds with them grow stronger during these days. May I enjoy my time together with them and may I sense once again how enriched I am because you have made me a part of your family by sending your Son to earth. Amen.
